Welcome to the Year 3 and 4 class page.

Meet the team: Mrs Brocklehurst (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday), Miss Wilson (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday), Miss Backhouse and Mrs Hague are our fantastic teachers.

Mrs Robinson, Mrs Barton, Mrs Moore and Mrs Unwin are our wonderful teaching assistants.

Weekly Information:

Drop off and Collection – Start time is 8.30am on the school playground. Collection time is 3.30pm from the school field/walk to the gate (you have completed the ‘Going Home’ letter).

Swimming: Currently swimming is Miss Wilson /Mrs Brocklehurst’s class.  Last swim is on 6th October. Mrs Hague’s class start swimming 13th October and finish on the 24th November. Miss Backhouse’s class start swimming on 1st December and finish on 19th January (no swimming session on 15th December)

PE: Miss Wilson /Mrs Brocklehurst’s PE day is Tuesday. Miss Backhouse’s PE day is Wednesday. Mrs Hague’s PE day is Thursday.

** Please leave PE kit at school for the duration of the half term.  Children will require outside shoes and warm clothing as due to COVID-19 all PE will take place outside.

Spellings: Miss Wilson’s/Mrs Brocklehurst’s spelling quiz day is Wednesday. Miss Backhouse and Mrs Hague’s spelling quiz day is Friday.

Autumn Term: We are busy learning all about Chocolate!

Through this exciting topic, we will learn all about where chocolate originated from and how it is made.  We will discover how the Mayan civilization lived and make traditional Mayan masks.  We will read Roald Dahl’s fantastic book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.  We will research fair trade and its impact on our life. In Science, we will investigate plants.  Check out the Curriculum Overview section on the website for more information.
