Our Headteacher's Warm Welcome
I am delighted to welcome you to Heatherley Primary School.
At Heatherley, our vision is simple: happy children who feel safe, valued and inspired to achieve their very best. We are proud to be a nurturing and inclusive school where every child is known as an individual and encouraged to flourish both academically and personally. Our high expectations, combined with a caring and supportive environment, ensure that pupils are motivated to succeed and develop confidence in their own abilities.
Our dedicated team of teachers and teaching assistants provide a rich, ambitious and well-sequenced curriculum that captures children’s interests and sparks curiosity. Learning at Heatherley is engaging, purposeful and carefully designed to build knowledge and skills over time. We strive to create a culture where pupils develop a genuine love of learning and the resilience to become successful, lifelong learners with high aspirations for the future.
We are proud of our strong ethos and the positive attitudes to learning demonstrated by our pupils. Behaviour across the school is exemplary, and children show respect, kindness and a real sense of responsibility towards one another. As recognised by Ofsted, we are committed to ensuring that all pupils, regardless of their starting points, make good progress and achieve well within a supportive and inclusive environment.
We firmly believe that education is most successful when there is a strong partnership between home and school. We greatly value the role of parents and carers and are committed to working closely with you. Our open-door approach ensures that we are always available to listen, support and celebrate your child’s achievements together.
Staff and governors take great pride in the achievements of our pupils, not only during their time with us but also in the confident, thoughtful and well-rounded young people they become. We aim to equip every child with the knowledge, skills and values they need to make a positive contribution to the wider world.
There are many opportunities for you to be involved in school life and to share in your child’s learning journey. We warmly invite you to visit us and experience first-hand the welcoming, vibrant and purposeful atmosphere that makes Heatherley such a special place to learn.
We would be delighted to welcome you and your family to our Heatherley community.
With my very best wishes,
Sarah James
