World Kindness Day
World Kindness Day - Sunday 13th November.
To celebrate World Kindness Day, some of our ELSA family took part in the toothpaste challenge! To start the activity, the children recorded some kind words and actions that they can do to be kind and we spoke about how they make us feel. We then spoke about how unkind words can make us feel.
The children then had a go at the challenge! They squeezed some toothpaste out into a bowl and were then asked to put it all back! They knew straight away that they would struggle to put any back into the tube, but they all had fun attempting this! As the children were working hard on this, we spoke about our words being similar to the toothpaste. Once your words come out of your mouth (like the toothpaste comes out the tube), you cannot stop what has been heard and it can have really hurtful effects on the people around you. You can ask for forgiveness, but those words can still have a lot of weight on people.
Lots of the children agreed that only kind words should be said to each other to avoid hurting anybody's feelings, and they all enjoyed the challenge - well done!
